Jul 10, 2018 The checksums differ between versions ie: NTSC v1.00 of melee has different checksums than NTSC v1.02 and PAL has different checksums than NTSC. BUT, if your melee.iso/.gcm isn't perfect the patcher flips out. It's essentially the same as if you threw in the incorrect version of melee and the patcher won't have the correct checksums to alter.

- If you would like to make sure your disc is version 1.02, download InternetExplorer's Melee Toolkit and load your game image with it.

1) Open GCRebuilder (GCR)
3) Find your ISO and click on it
4) In the file tree list on the right, right-click on 'root' at the top and click 'Export'
- This may take a minute or two depending how badass your computer is
-Close GCR for a few steps -
5) Once it is complete, navigate to that 'root' folder that you just exported and leave that window open
6) In the downloaded '(1.02) 20XX File Replacements [3.00]' folder, there is another folder titled 'File Replacements'. Copy all the files in there EXCEPT Start.dol and paste them into the 'root' folder
- tell the computer to 'Copy and Replace' for all the conflicts
7) Now open up the '&&systemdata' folder that is within the 'root' folder, at the top.
-Paste the 20XX Start.dol file in here and overwrite the original file
- Open GCR -
- find your 'root' folder and click on it then hit OK
10) At the top, hit 'Root' --> 'Save...'
- give it a file name and a save destination and hit 'Save'
11) At the top, hit 'Root' --> 'Rebuild'
- it will rebuild your ISO and save it to the destination you chose
Load that ISO on a hacked Wii and welcome...to 20XX Melee.
