Introduction

SciFinder-n is a new database in the CAS SciFinder family. It contains all the content available in SciFinder and has integrated access to new features such as MethodsNow Synthesis and PatentPak.

ChemDoodle Mobile is a calculator for drawn organic structures. There are four main windows: Draw, Calculate, Spectra and Help. The Draw window shows a typical ChemDoodle sketcher, where you can draw and store your structures. The Calculate page calculates properties and the Spectra page simulates NMR spectra. All spectra are interactive. ChemDoodle 2D contains thousands of chemistry features, helping you produce the highest quality graphics and saving you hours of work. Are you having trouble uninstalling ChemDoodle? Are you looking for a solution that will completely uninstall and remove all of its files from your computer?

Which database should you use for your research? UB will continue to have access to SciFinder in addition to SciFinder-n. You are welcome to use SciFinder, but we recommend conducting research in SciFinder-n. The user interface is more sophisticated and the new tools (e.g., synthesis tools and PatentPak) are quite powerful.

ChemDoodle 3D: ChemDoodle® 3D is a scientific visualization platform with a focus on user customizability and universal support. Just like its 2D counterpart, all of the graphics are fully customizable and controllable. The system requirements for the latest ChemDoodle and ChemDoodle 3D releases are available here. Chemdoodle is always oddly shifted such that the peaks upfield are more upfield than they should be, and those which are downfield are more downfield than they should be (but maybe that's just the molecules I work with). The names on chemdraw seem to make more sense too.

How to log in to SciFinder

New Users must set up an account.

Step 1- Go to the UB/CAS SciFinder Registration Site.

To access the registration site, you must be a current authorized UB faculty, student or staff member and have a UBIT name and password.

YOU MAY RECEIVE AN ERROR MESSAGE AT THIS STEP! Here is how to resolve the error:

• Go to the UB Libraries page 'Off-Campus Access for Library Resources'
• Scroll down to the section titled 'Proxy Marker Bookmarklet' and follow the instructions for your browser.
• Try to access the SciFinder-n Registration Site again. When you receive the error, click your new bookmarklet.
• You should now be on the registration page.

Step 2- Create Your Account.

Once you're at the UB/CAS SciFinder Registration Site, register your name, address, UB e-mail account (@buffalo.edu). You will be asked to create your own user name and password that is separate from your UBIT name and password (although you may choose to use your UBIT name and password). Your user name and password must be kept confidential and not shared with any other person, UB-affiliated or not.

Step 3- Search in SciFinder.

How to log in to SciFinder-n

Current SciFinder users do NOT need a new account.

Simply click the link above to enter SciFinder-n. Once at the landing page, you will be prompted to verify your email address and you will be sent a code. Once you receive the code, enter it into the appropriate box on the log-in page, and you will be ready to use SciFinder-n.

Chemdoodle Iupac Naming

• License codes are displayed immediately on the purchase confirmation page, so you may begin using our software right away. We will also send your license code to the email address you specify when you purchase. So please double check you typed your email address correctly.

• Subscriptions begin immediately, on the day of purchase, regardless of whether you activate your license or not.

• Can the price change during the course of my subscription?

  All renewals are grandfathered at the original price you paid. So as long as you keep renewing you will never see a price increase. If you cancel, you will have to purchase anew at the then current price.
  Please note taxes and conversation rates are beyond the control of iChemLabs and may change.

• Once you click on a product to buy, a cart will appear. You may change the quantity of the license in this cart.

• I paid for n Monthly subscriptions, but I received n separate Monthly subscriptions. Shouldn't I have received a n month subscription?

  No, a Monthly license is for an individual user, and if you purchase n Monthly licenses, you will be purchasing a Monthly subscription for each of n individual users, not a n month license.
  If you are only purchasing for yourself, simply purchase a single subscription and allow your subscription to renew for the duration of your use. Not only will you not have to pay upfront, but subscription prices are locked in for our customers, so you will be immune to any price increases.
  In the event you made a mistake and purchased n number of subscriptions assuming the license term would be cummulative for your use, please contact us and we will adjust your license to a n month subscription.

• I need only one product provided in the plan, can I only purchase that one?

  No, our plans are very competitively priced, even if you only need one product. We do not license them separately. We are sure you will find all of the products very useful, as they work very well together.

• As required by law, we must include tax where necessary.

  VAT Tax
  VAT tax will be applied to orders made outside of the United States, where applicable.
